The Bass-baritone has excelled as an opera singer, music producer, the iconic voice of Bluebeard in Béla Bartók: Bluebeard’s Castle. In the past few seasons Mr. Horvath has performed such contrasting roles as Giorgio Germont at the State Opera Wiesbaden, Bluebeard in Ljubljana and sang the roles of Wotan at the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl as well as in China. This season 2018-19 he returned to Erl to impersonate lead roles in Wagner’s Parsifal (Amfortas), Braunfels’s Die Vögel (Prometheus, Adler, Zeuss) and in Rossini’s Guillaume Tell (Walter Fürst). In December 2019 he will perform the Wanderer in Wagner’s Siegfried in China.
